Education

Just Equity for Health is committed to changing the types of conversations we have in medicine and healthcare delivery. Like all health care professionals, physicians often witness the terminal damage that societal inequities reap on our patients’ bodies.
 
Through Just Equity for Health, Dr. Safo is committed to helping to influence the conversations about medicine’s role in advocacy and in encouraging academic medical spaces to teach the principles of advocacy to students and trainees.
 
Her efforts here include working in curriculum design for social medicine in the Bronx New York and in various speaking and teaching engagements nationally. Dr. Safo also lectures on COVID-19’s impact on communities of color, and on HIV prevention and treatment.

Just Equity for Health is also committed to providing education and guidance that protects Black and women of color in medicine via an immersive workshop, Thriving in the Last Mile.
